Interviews are always a nerve-wracking occasion. We have put together some of our top interview tips and skills to help calm your nerves and increase the success of your next interview. 1. Be early – Showing up early to an interview demonstrates you are punctual and respectful of your potential future employer’s time and yours. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get there, and do not be hesitant to call the office to clarify the location and directions. 2. Always bring a form of Identification, any relevant and applicable certifications and a copy of your current C.V. – It is important to bring all necessary documents to the interview so that the interviewer has all the information that they need, and may allow them to ask more specific questions based on your skills and qualifications. 3. Prepare some questions for your interviewer – An interview is an opportunity for your potential future employer to learn about you, your qualifications, and your skills. It is also an opportunity for you to learn more about your future employer. Be prepared to ask questions about your position, your responsibilities as well as questions about the company in general. Asking questions demonstrates your eagerness and genuineness to be selected for the position. It also demonstrates your ability to think on your feet. It allows you to ensure that the position is right for you. Additionally, take some time prior to your interview to familiarize yourself with the company’s mission, vision, goals and objectives. This information should be readily available on their website. 4. Take your time when answering questions – During an interview, it is acceptable to take a few seconds before responding to a question.
